Mike Wright is the owner and head Wildlife Warrior of Arkansas Urban Wildlife Control. He was led to career in wildlife control and management through his three passions: animals, construction and kids.
Before heading up AUWC, Mike attended Hendrix College in Conway and worked as a licensed contractor for 15 years. While working in construction, he found many squirrels, raccoons and other wild animals living in the structural components of his projects. Being a Wildlife Warrior, Mike was the only person willing to remove the animals from job sites and carry them to safety. He found that he absolutely loved it. When he got the opportunity he decided to work with wildlife full-time and bought AUWC in 2005. The rest, as they say, is history.
Mike's most memorable animal rescue happened a few years ago when he captured a 10-foot yellow Burmese python from behind a woman's garbage can. The python, which he later named Becky, lives in the AUWC office and works with Mike to educate children about the value of wildlife.
While he's not working with animals, he is a frequent speaker and guest of "Talkin' Outdoors" with the Wildman, Steve Wilson. Mike volunteers with homeless shelters and enjoys exploring Arkansas on his motorcycle.
